Are You Ready to Fly to Azores for Free by Making Nine QSOs?
Yes indeed, those of you willing to spend 24 hours or less on the radio are eligible to participate in an Azores lottery for two all-paid packages to the beautiful Azores Islands in the Atlantic , completely free of charge. The project is organized by the Azores-Finland Friendship Consortium in partnership with the Amateur Radio Associations of the Azores Islands and supported by the Azores Promotion Agency (ATA) and Azorean Airlines (SATA).
Not many people know that the Azores consist of nine populated islands, stretching over a distance of 602 km (305mi) from East to West, next to USA and Europe . And it is not widely known that the Azores have their own airline (SATA) flying to each island, in addition to many destinations in Europe and North America . Each island has its own characteristics and its own blend and alone qualifies for your visit there.
While these islands count for a single DXCC entity, they offer three (3) IOTA groupings.
With this unique AZORES 9 ISLANDS HUNT, an invited international group of amateur radio operators together with resident Azores amateurs will be activating the nine islands, offering an opportunity to the world to contact these islands all at once over one weekend.
Activity Weekend
Saturday, September 29, 1200 UTC to September 30, 1200 UTC (24 hours).
These stations will be active starting Friday, September 28 as soon as they become operational.

Two Hunt Awards
Those making a QSO with at least 5 different islands will have a corresponding number of tickets placed into a lottery for a free trip to the Azores (e.g. if you have QSOs with 7 islands, you will get 7 lottery tickets). Additionally, the first 25 operators making QSOs with all 9 islands will be eligible for a second lottery. The free trips are from the closest airport served by SATA; including flight, accommodation and transfers..
During or immediately after the weekend, the logs will be posted on Club Log to display your band/mode slots. The lottery will be drawn on October 15, 2012.

“TODAS NOVE ILHAS DE AÇORES , CU1 ATÉ CU9, ATIVAS AO MESMO TEMPO Voce está pronto para voar para Açores de graça, apenas por fazer 9 QSO?
Aqueles que estiverem dispostos a gastar 24 horas (ou menos) no radio poderão participar de um sorteio para ganhar duas passagens com tudo pago para as belíssimas Ilhas dos Açores no Atlântico, completamente grátis.
O projeto é organizado pelo Consórcio de Amizade AZORES-FINLAND em conjunto com a Associação de Radio Amadores de Açores e promovido pela Agencia de promoção dos Açorese pela Azorean Airlines (SATA).
Nem todas as pessoas sabem que os Açores consistem em nove ilhas habitadas, distribuídas em uma distancia de 602km de Leste a Oeste, próximas à Europa e aos Estados Unidos. E também não é conhecido o fato de que Açores tem sua própria empresa aérea voando para as nove ilhas,além de vários outros destinos na Europa e América do Norte. Cada ilha tem suas próprias características seu próprio encanto, e vale a pena a visita a cada uma delas.
Embora contem como apenas uma entidade para o DXCC, elas estão divididas em 3 grupos para o Diploma IOTA.
Para esta CAÇADA ESPECIAL DAS NOVE ILHAS DOS AÇORES, um grupo internacional de radioamadores internacionais foi convidado, junto com residentes nas ilhas, para ativarem as nove ilhas, oferecendo uma oportunidade ao mundo para contactar todas as ilhas de uma vez, em apenas um final de semana.
Atividade será de 29 de Setembro,sábado,1200 UTC até 30 de setembro,domingo, 1200 UTC.

Two Hunt Awards – Aqueles que fizerem pelo menos 5 contatos com diferentes ilhas, terão onumero correspondente de tickets em um sorteio para uma viagem grátis para os Açores (i.e. se você tem 7 contatos, ganha 7 números para participar da loteria) Adicionalmente, os primeiros 25 operadores que completarem contatos com as 9 ilhas, participarão de um segundo sorteio.
As viagens grátis se iniciam no próximo aeroporto servido por SATA, e inclui passagem aérea, acomodações e transfers.
Imediatamente após o final de semana, os logs serão enviados para Club Log para mostrar os Band Slots. O sorteio será realizado em 15 de Outubro de 2012.
